I offer weekly classes in Roseville, MN for Middle and High School students during the school year, through YEAH Academy.
Two beginner-level courses, Computer Programming Intro (grades 6-8) and Computer Programming Basics (grades 8-12), teach students universal computer programming concepts and techniques using the Scratch programming language.
Both the Intro and Basics courses run fall and spring semester every year, following YEAH’s schedule.
The Advanced Computer Programming Workshop: Websites course runs fall and spring semester every OTHER year, following YEAH’s schedule. The next time it runs will be the 2018-2019 school year.
Students will learn how to carefully read and discuss difficult texts in the Critical Thinking with the Great Books (grades 9-12) courses. All classes are discussion-based and taught using the classical Socratic method.
The Critical Thinking with the Great Books: The Ancients course runs fall and spring semester every OTHER year, following YEAH’s schedule. The next time it runs will be the 2018-2019 school year.
Students in Chess Club (grades 5-12) will improve their chess game, if they already know how to play, or learn to play chess, if they don’t already know. If parents and club members have interest, the Chess Club may attend events or tournaments.
Chess Club runs fall and spring semester every year, following YEAH’s schedule. Students may join Chess Club halfway through the year, in the spring semester.
